Prepping 4 Baby

Posted on

We are weeks away from officially starting to try for a baby and I cannot even begin to contain my excitement! This time last year Michael and I sat down and decided that spring 2020 would be the best time for us to officially give it go and I have been counting down ever since!

This post is pretty preliminary, but I wanted to talk about how I have been prepping my mind and body the last couple months in preparation for this next step.

A few months before our wedding I went ahead and had the Nexplanon birth control implanted into my left bicep. We knew we didn’t want kids right away and I did not trust myself to stay on top of a daily pill, so this was the best option for me. I had it in for almost two years and recently had it removed at the beginning of January. I had a wonderful experience with the implant and do plan to get it again after we have a baby, but for now I am working on reversing the affects of it. My body use to be pretty on point with a regular cycle and once I went on birth control my cycles were few and far between– to be honest I think I maybe only had about four periods in two years. After having the implant removed I downloaded two popular ovulation/cycle tracking apps to help get my body straight again.

So far so good, I’ve had one cycle that was a tad longer than I’m use to, but it’s all of the process. I have also started tracking my Basal body temperature to help track my ovulation. I know that the odds of getting pregnant on the first try isn’t always the case, but anything I can so to speed the process up I am going to do. I also started taking NatureMade Prenatal vitamins daily since January as it was recommend by my doctor and several books I’ve started to flip through.

As of now I feel amazing– I am still very active in the gym and eating healthy. To be honest I am working on upping my body fat percentage since competing helped me lean out a lot, but I am also not 100% focused on that- I’m just not saying no if I feel like ice cream at night lol.

Well that is my official first update! Cannot wait until I have more exciting news to share!
