Trying To Conceive: Cycle 3

Posted on

And another month bites the dust. I know we have only been at this for 3 months, but I swear it feels like much longer- I also hate when people remind me that it has “only been 3 months” like I am not allowed to be upset that we’re not pregnant yet. It’s my party and I can cry if I want to!

This month we decided to throw caution to the wind and try another approach to get pregnant- the “IDGAF” approach. I tossed my ovulation tests out the door, deleted all of my tracking apps, and shouted up to the sky “WHAT WILL BE, WILL BE!” Okay….so maybe that is not exactly what happened, but I did give the whole no tracking thing a try. We decided to just have sex at least every other day and hope that it did the trick. I was out of town towards the end of my fertile window, Friday- Sunday, and with our every other dat strategy the days all fell in line (sex before I left Friday, no sex Saturday, and sex on Sunday when I got back). I thought it was foolproof. I was wrong. Shocker lol.

It was actually both relaxing and stressful not tracking my ovulation- it was nice to not feel beaten up by a pee stick, but I also felt naked without the information for after ovulation purposes. Another bright side was that during the two week wait I just went about my life, I didn’t have a mental countdown running and counting down the days until I could take a pregnancy test. My period was set to arrive on Friday August 21/Saturday August 22 and both days came and went with no Aunt Flo in sight. I felt AMAZING! I started to think that this was it- our time had come and our little bun was cooking away in the oven.

And then Sunday came around and I woke up and took a test right away….

Here I was, one/two days late for my period and a big fat negative. HOW?! I went back and crawled into bed, tears creeping down my face and I buried my head in Michael. 20 minutes later- my period started.

I started to do some research on other methods of tracking ovulation and ended up ordering the Ava bracelet. You wear it while you are sleeping and it tracks and records five different perimeters to help determine your fertile week in real time. It should be here in a few days! It will take about a month to learn my body, so it may not be super helpful for month four, but I am going to start using it as soon as possible. On to another month- will update soon

Have you tried Pink Stork Fertility pills and researching the ‘FAM’ method? Helped us on the first try! Wishing you the best and sticky baby dust!
